why not set up two virtual hosts, one each for your public and private
wikis?
then you could use any wiki software you liked, instead of just those
that supported namespaces internally.
if you don't need encryption (or if you use a wildcard SSL certificate
for multiple hostnames within the same domain), you can use name-based
virtual hosts and wont need to allocate a separate IP address for each
vhost.
