It seems a little strange that you write such a brief post referencing a post opposing twitter (the service for such brief posts).

I recommend that you use a links post for such things and save it for the end of the month.

Also it’s good if you give at least a passing mention to the contents of the post you reference so that people who are unable to load it (or people who read your blog in some future time after the original post goes away) can still get the point.

Congratulations on getting your blog running!

i guess i don’t see twitter and short posts and links as being anything at all alike.

i see twitter as being inherently exactly like this.

twitter might be a useful service for some to keep in touch with their friends, but whatever value it may or may not have completely vanishes when it’s taken out of context and posted to a blog…and it’s even worse when that blog is syndicated to a feed aggregator.

the post was meant as a teaser - i wanted people to visit the link, and i specifically didn’t want to plagiarise someone else’s blog.

re: getting the blog up and running - couldn’t be easier, with wordpress. spent a lot more time hacking up this simple black theme than i did in setting up the blog. but yeah, thanks. it’ll be an interesting experiment at least.
